MyMusicFolders Frequently Asked Questions (“FAQs”)
Read some important notes about embossing
Can I return my folders if I am unhappy with them?
When you shop with us, we want you to be completely satisfied. If for any reason you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may return it for a replacement or refund of the purchase price. Personalized, 'embossed' orders are not returnable unless the folders themselves are defective. Read our complete Return Policy for more information.
Do your folders come in other colors?
Currently, our folders are only available in a fabulous shade of black! Matches tuxedos, looks great with everything.
Does the Deluxe Choral Folder really come with both a 3-ring binder and octavo cords??
Yep! Yessirree!! You Betcha’! You get them both!
The 3-ring thing is held in place using 2 octavo cords. When it is in place, there are another 8 cords for octavos, and when it is taken out, you have a total of 10 octavo cords to play with.
How can I be sure you received my order?
You will receive an “auto-reply” email that confirms our reception of your order. (check your Junk folder if you don't see it)
How will I know when my order ships?
You will also receive another email to tell you when we have shipped your order and charged your credit card. That shipping confirmation email will have your tracking number inside, so don’t throw it away J
How long will it take to receive my order?
Generally, PLAIN (no embossing) folders ship within 2 -3 work days of when we receive your order.
EMBOSSED folders can take 2-4 weeks to process, since we have to schedule the time to emboss them. Of course, if we are having a “slower” time, we will get your embossed orders out to you more quickly.
I’m worried about getting my folder in time; what should I do?
You should choose the shipping method that enables you to sleep at night. Most of the time, US Priority Mail is faster (3-day delivery once shipped) than UPS Ground. Then again, UPS Ground is often the least expensive way to ship orders of 3 or more folders…… Please use the shipping calculator (to the left of your screen on the ordering pages) to calculate your best shipping options.
How much does shipping cost?
There is an easy to use shipping calculator to the left of the ordering screen. Please fill in your zip code, and then use the pull-down menu in order to see the costs of your options. You must first “place your item(s) in the cart” for it to work, since it calculates the weight of your shipment as well as the distance in order to give you the costs. You choose the shipping method, but a general guide is this: US Priority Mail is almost always faster (3 day delivery) than UPS Ground, and often cheaper if it is not a large order. Orders of 5 or more folders, please consider (less expensive) UPS options.
I want embossing on my folder, isn’t it just easier to call you?
While we are happy to answer phone calls, embossing instructions MUST be submitted in a hard copy to us. That means, via e-mail, fax (406-543-3852) OR –and this really is the best of all! - using our secure on-line shopping cart! The reason is this: I am a very bad speller, and I don’t always hear correctly. When I have your copy in front of me, I am much less likely to make a mistake on your folder(s). In the shopping cart, there is a lovely empty “comment box”, just waiting for you to add a list of names, or indicate any other special instructions to us.
I want to order on behalf of my school/church/choir, but we want you to bill us instead of using my own credit card. What do I do?
You may still order on-line. When you get to the payment information section of the shopping cart, there is a pull-down box asking for “Method of Payment” The options are: Visa, Master Card, or Purchase Order. Choose Purchase Order and you will be prompted to enter the number that your institution has authorized for you to use. Then, when we fill your order, we place an invoice in the box, and you hand it to your bookkeeper who writes us a check and mails it, and we are all happy musicians!
Just who are you guys anyway?
Jon and Robbin Rose started MyMusicFolders in 2002, as a way to help fund the Missoula Community Chorus (which we were crazy enough to start in 2001, check them out: www.missoulachorus.org !). Both of us have been working musicians all of our adult lives. We were always musicians, and sometimes we have been paid well for it J
Jon was in a punk band (well, maybe “ska” – he has a trombone and he’s not afraid to use it!) that traveled the NorthWest U.S. in the mid-80’s, Robbin sang light opera and musicals in summer theaters for several seasons. Later endeavors included Jon’s 12 year stint singing in a Madrigal group, drinking lots of port while wearing tights and singing catches. Robbin spent that time working for churches, singing jazz standards on the weekends, and getting an advanced degree in Music Thanatology (prescriptive music for people at the end of life).
We have 2 pianos, 3 trombones, 3 guitars, several autoharps (don’t ask), a 31-string harp, 2 musical daughters, and a dog who can pitch-match! We are thinking about posting a YouTube video of Zuzu, the singing Pomeranian…we’ll keep you up-dated!
Happy music-making!!!
